ITV has announced that hit drama Primeval will return to UK television screens for two new series from 2011, thanks to a ground-breaking deal between ITV, multichannel broadcaster, UKTV, and producers Impossible Pictures.

ITV1 broadcasts Moonshot, a powerful new documentary charting next Monday (20th July), marking the anniversary of the Apollo 11 mission to the moon back in 1969.

UK broacaster ITV has just announced Mission to the Moon – News from 1969, a series of five 10 minute mini documentaries that will celebrate the 40th anniversary of the first manned moon landing, with each programme taking the form of a news bulletin to report each day’s momentous events with a modern twist.

Following ITV's unbelievably stupid cancellation of hit family SF show Primeval, it's been revealed series makers Impossible Pictures offered to make a fourth series for less than £600,000 an episode - but even that was not enough of a bargain to convince the broadcaster to re-order the show.
