ITV has announced that hit drama Primeval will return to UK television screens for two new series from 2011, thanks to a ground-breaking deal between ITV, multichannel broadcaster, UKTV, and producers Impossible Pictures.

Following ITV's unbelievably stupid cancellation of hit family SF show Primeval, it's been revealed series makers Impossible Pictures offered to make a fourth series for less than £600,000 an episode - but even that was not enough of a bargain to convince the broadcaster to re-order the show.

As weirdandbeard reported last month, ITV series Primeval is heading for the big screen  with Warner Bros buying rights to turn the dinosaur drama into a movie for a "six figure sum".
