
Demontstrating the home made extendable claws via a video posted on Metacafe, their inventor, codename aekirby6, says "I made these myself out of steel and metal tubing, a request from a friend... I enjoy the challenge of making stuff, so I took it.
"I know it's not impressive to beat up boxes," he continues, "but honestly what else I am going to use to show that they really work and can take a beating. It was fun to make, and pretty fun to wear too. "
As you can see from the video below, the claws are certainly a clever invention. But while it looks like they can't do that much damage - unless you're an unsuspecting cardboard box, of course -- surely it's only a matter of time before someone else takes the idea and develops it further. Then it won't just be carboard (or carpets) that need to worry...
